Questions, answers, and comments were formulated, concerning among other things:

  • It is noted that the location certificate presented in the project analysis dates from 2013, but it is believed that the building has not been modified since;
  • However, it is noted on Google Maps that there appears to be a chimney and a porch on the west side facade that are not indicated on the location certificate, and which do not appear on the elevations;
  • The plans for the addition of windows were submitted in connection with the change of use of the building;
  • More details are requested regarding the work to be carried out, what will happen to the chimney and the porch, and whether the cornice will be restored where the chimney is currently located;
  • A better alignment of the new windows with the existing ones is desired, perhaps reviewing their dimensions;
  • The addition of an awning above the door on the west side facade is proposed.

CONSIDERING THAT a request to renovate a commercial building has been made for the property located at 815, rue Jacques-Cartier;

CONSIDERING THAT the work is subject to Règlement numéro 914-96 establishing the Jacques-Cartier heritage site;

CONSIDERING THAT the work is also subject to the Règlement sur les plans d’implantation et d’intégration architecturale numéro 535-2025;

CONSIDERING THAT the project respects the acceptance criteria for work under Règlement constituant le site du patrimoine Jacques-Cartier numéro 914-96;

CONSIDERING THAT a vote is requested, and that eight members vote for the project, one member votes against, and three members are absent;

CONSEQUENTLY, this Committee recommends that the Council approve, pursuant to Règlement constituant le site du patrimoine Jacques-Cartier numéro 914-96, a renovation project aimed at adding openings at 815, rue Jacques-Cartier, as illustrated in the project analysis in the document entitled:

  • Architectural Plan – Landry architectes – February 8, 2010 – 815, rue Jacques-Cartier.
