LOCAL HERITAGE COUNCIL – MINUTES – 67th meeting held on June 22, 2026 at 3:10 p.m.

Heritage – Replace roof covering – 10 Broad Street – Aylmer Electoral District – Vincent Roy

Questions, answers, and comments were formulated, concerning among other things:

• The members recommend that the applicant choose the Galvalume color for the roof covering.

CONSIDERING THAT an application to replace the building's roof covering has been submitted for 10 Broad Street;

CONSIDERING THAT the building is located in the Vieux-Aylmer heritage insertion sector, that the proposed work is subject to the Règlement sur le site du patrimoine d’Aylmer number 2100-97 and to the Règlement numéro 505-2005 relatif aux plans d’implantation et d’intégration architecturale, and that this work requires the approval of the municipal council;

CONSIDERING THAT the applicant plans to correct the deformation of the building's roof structure and replace the current covering, whose advanced state of deterioration is causing water infiltration, with a higher architectural quality material contributing to the preservation and enhancement of the building's heritage character;

CONSIDERING THAT the work complies with the provisions of the Règlement de zonage numéro 532-2020, and respects the applicable objectives and evaluation criteria of the Règlement numéro 505-2005 relatif aux plans d’implantation et d’intégration architecturale;

CONSEQUENTLY, this Committee recommends that the council approve, pursuant to the Règlement numéro 2100-97 sur le site du patrimoine d’Aylmer, exterior work at 10 Broad Street aimed at replacing the building's roof covering, as illustrated in the project analysis in the document entitled:

• Proposed roof covering material - By SUDD, June 9, 2026 – 10 Broad Street.

Heritage – Renovate a detached three-family dwelling – 44 Leduc Street – Hull-Wright Electoral District – Steve Moran

Questions, answers, and comments were formulated, concerning among other things:

• The dwelling is listed in the inventory as having high heritage value. It is believed that the color of the roof covering should be inspired by the traditional colors of the sector. The colors Galvalume or Stone Grey are strongly suggested to the applicant.

CONSIDERING THAT an application for the renovation of a detached three-family dwelling has been submitted for the property located at 44 Leduc Street;

CONSIDERING THAT the building, built in 1900, is identified in the document "Ville de Gatineau – Inventaire du patrimoine bâti traditionnel" which assigns it a high heritage value;

CONSIDERING THAT the project aims to replace the exterior wall covering of wood fiber siding and replace the metal roof of the canopy located at the main entrance;

CONSIDERING THAT the work proposed by the applicant is subject to municipal council approval, pursuant to the Règlement constituant le site patrimonial Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195 and pursuant to the Règlement relatif aux plans d’implantation et d’intégration architecturale numéro 535-2025;

CONSIDERING THAT the project complies with the applicable regulatory provisions of the Règlement de zonage numéro 532-2020 and that it respects the majority of the applicable objectives and criteria of the Règlement constituant le site patrimonial Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195;

CONSEQUENTLY, this Committee recommends that the council approve, pursuant to the Règlement constituant le site du patrimoine Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195, a project at 44 Leduc Street to renovate a detached three-family dwelling, as illustrated in the project analysis in the documents entitled:

• Proposed renovation work – SUDD – May 28, 2026 – 44 Leduc Street;
• Description of proposed materials – SUDD – May 28, 2026 – 44 Leduc Street.

Heritage – Replace a gallery and an exterior metal staircase – 53-55 Laval Street – Hull-Wright Electoral District – Steve Moran

CONSIDERING THAT an application to authorize work to replace a gallery and an exterior staircase located in the right side and rear yard has been submitted for the property located at 53-55 Laval Street;

CONSIDERING THAT the property is located in the Kent-Aubry-Wright heritage site where any renovation project for the main building is subject to municipal council approval, pursuant to the Règlement constituant le site du patrimoine Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195 and pursuant to the Règlement sur les plans d’implantation et d’intégration architecturale numéro 535-2025;

CONSIDERING THAT the building, built in 1900, is identified in the document "Ville de Gatineau – Inventaire du patrimoine bâti traditionnel" which assigns it a high heritage value;

CONSIDERING THAT the proposed work aims to preserve and enhance the building to ensure its longevity;

CONSIDERING THAT the project complies with the applicable regulatory provisions of the Règlement de zonage numéro 532-2020 and respects the majority of the applicable objectives and evaluation criteria of the Règlement constituant le site patrimonial Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195;

CONSEQUENTLY, this Committee recommends that the council approve, pursuant to the Règlement constituant le site du patrimoine Kent-Aubry-Wright numéro 2195, a project to replace an exterior metal staircase at 53-55 Laval Street, as illustrated in the project analysis in the document entitled:

• Construction details of the proposed gallery and staircase – blü architecture – February 9, 2026 – 53-55 Laval Street – Annotated by SUDD.
