CONSIDERING THAT the municipal council adopted, on July 7, 2026, Règlement numéro 300-48-2006 amending Règlement numéro 300-2006 with the goal of adding provisions concerning car-sharing permits, modifying the term "taxi," and increasing certain fines for parking-related infractions;

CONSIDERING THAT the municipal council adopted, on July 7, 2026, Règlement numéro 61-46-2026 amending the pricing bylaw Règlement de tarification numéro 61-2006 establishing pricing applicable for goods, services, or activities offered by the Ville de Gatineau in order to add rates associated with car-sharing permits to Appendix V;

CONSIDERING THAT Règlement numéro 300-2006 now provides the possibility of issuing a permit for vehicles of station-based car-sharing companies on municipal land;

CONSIDERING THAT the company Communauto currently operates 32 parking spaces for its station-based vehicles on the lands of the Ville de Gatineau and that these spaces were until now governed by separate agreements between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto;

CONSIDERING THAT the regulatory amendment renders these agreements obsolete, as the company Communauto can now obtain parking permits authorizing its vehicles to operate in the spaces currently assigned:

PROPOSED AND UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED THAT this committee:

• terminates the agreements approved by the Executive Committee concerning the rental of municipal parking spaces to the company Communauto for the operation of Communauto station-based vehicles:

  • CE-2022-64 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow two vehicles in the aréna Frank-Robinson parking lot;
  • CE-2022-380 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow car-sharing vehicles to park on certain municipal lands;
  • CE-2022-845 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow car-sharing vehicles to park on certain municipal lands;
  • CE-2023-959 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow car-sharing vehicles to park on certain municipal lands;
  • CE-2024-657 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow car-sharing vehicles to park on certain municipal lands;

• terminates the agreements concerning the rental of municipal parking spaces to the company Communauto for the operation of Communauto station-based vehicles:

  • 2020 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow one vehicle in the aréna Cholette parking lot;
  • 2020 - Memorandum of understanding between the Ville de Gatineau and Communauto to allow one vehicle in the stade Pierre Lafontaine parking lot;
